“Without the vision, dedication and hard work of these individuals, CIEL would not exist today or be able to perform the extraordinary work for which it is renowned all over the world.”

CIEL is a nonprofit organization working to use international law and institutions to protect the environment, promote human health, and ensure a just and sustainable society. Mr. Zaelke served as CIEL’s president from 1989 to 2003.
