Filed under: INECE Secretariat, seaports — Tags: , — inece @ 11:48 pm

On 1-2 March 2010, the high-level Advisory Committee of the INECE Seaport Environmental Security Network (SESN) convened in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The participants engaged in strategic discussions on the current activities of the SESN and reviewed all that has been accomplished since the SESN Kick-off Meeting in October 2008 [pdf].

INECE is actively seeking new partners to join the SESN, with knowledge of their country’s import-export notification process for hazardous wastes, an understanding of the control and enforcement of such waste, familiarity with their country’s port operations, and awareness of the role of other agencies (for example, coast guard ministries). Individuals, governments, and organizations are encouraged to contact the INECE Secretariat at inece@inece.org for more information.
